This blog is intended as a way for Westwood students to share comments and promote their favorite Lovelace Bookks.  If you have read any of this year’s nominees, I would love to hear from you.

The Maud Hart Lovelace Award is a Minnesota award, selected solely by students in grades 3 through 8.  Every year twelve books are nominated.  Any student who has read at least three nominated books is qualified to vote for their favorite.  The winner is announced on April 24, the birthday of Minnesota writer, Maud Hart Lovelace.  Last year’s winner was Ruby Holler, by Sharon Creech.  At Westwood Intermediate School last year we had over 150 voters.
