All the Lovely Bad Ones, by Mary Downing Hahn
Travis and Corey think it would be fun to pretend to be ghosts. After all, the inn that their gtrandmother owns is supposed to be haunted, and a ghost sighting would be wonderful for business. What they do not expect is that their prank would awaken the ghosts of the many children who lived and died at the inn during the years it operated as a poor farm. They certainly didn’t intend to awaken the ghost of Miss Ada Jaggs, the cruel spinster who operated the poor farm.
The most frequently asked question in the media center is, “Where are your scary books?” Many days I simply show the student the Mary Downing Hahn shelf and the student leaves happy. All the Lovely Bad Ones will make a fine addition to the shelf.
